In this publication by Dr. Anna Ralser and the Gerhard Lab, Precise Spatial Proteomics provided important context to one of the most common drivers of gastric and colorectal carcinogenesis by demonstrating the mechanism of Helicobacter pylori infection-driven carcinogenesis.

This study serves as a powerful example of how spatial biology can be applied in translational research to explore hypotheses and unveil novel mechanisms leading to the emergence and progression of cancer.

Monitoring Efficacy of Microbeam Radiation Therapy

Verdiana Trappetti and colleagues of the University of Bern explored the efficacy of microbeam radiation therapy for radioresistant melanoma and metastases in mice.

Supported by Precise Spatial Proteomics to identify immune cell lineages from irradiated tumors, they identified a treatment protocol of double microbeam radiation therapy that inhibited melanoma progression and reduced metastasis. Spatial immunophenotyping facilitated the evaluation of therapeutic efficacy and monitored treatment progression – a key step toward personalized medicine.
